India gets 184 out 192 votes to enter UN Security Council

• India secured major diplomatic supremacy to enter the non-permanent category of the UN Security Council when polls were held for the five non-permanent members on 17th June. India won 184 votes out of 192 valid votes cast.

India 9th largest recipient of FDI in 2019 stated UN

COP26 climate change conference deferred until 2021 due to COVID-19

• A major UN climate change conference to take place in November has been deferred until 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic
• The COP26 summit was set to be organized by the U.K. at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow, Scotland, with over 30,000 people supposed to attend.

UN releases World Happiness Report 2020

• United Nations (UN) delivered the 8th World Happiness Report 2020 to measure the happiness of people of 156 countries where India(3.573) ranks in 144th position &  Finland(7.809) tops the 3rd time.
• The survey places the countries using Gallup World Poll, GDP levels, life expectancy, generosity, social support, freedom &  corruption income.
