GoI constitutes committee to decide modalities of Kisan Rail

The Union Government of India has constituted a committee to finalize modalities of Kisan Rail. This committee has been made under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare along with representatives of the Indian Railways. “Kisan Rail” is planned to be set up through the public-private-partnership (PPP) mode and will facilitate a cold supply chain to transport the perishable goods. It was proposed by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her budget speech of 2020-21 to set up a seamless National Cold Supply Chain for perishables like fish, milk and meat.

  • The Going Online As Leaders (GOAL) is a mutual initiative of Facebook India with the Ministry of Tribal affairs.

Defence Minister allows Defence Testing Infrastructure scheme

  • A Defence Testing Infrastructure Scheme (DTIS) has been recommended by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh with an expense of Rs 400 crore.
  • The scheme has been accepted to contribute private-sector defence and aerospace companies affordable facilities to test as well as validate the weaponry designed by them.

Central Govt approved Rs 156.61 Crore for FY20-21 to Tripura for implementation of JJM in State

  • For the year 2020-21, the fund allocation for the implementation of JJM in Tripura has been enhanced from Rs 107.64 Crore to Rs 156.61 Crore. With an initial balance of Rs 136.45 Crore available with the State and along with this year’s allocation of Rs 156.61 Crore, and considering the State matching share, a total of Rs 320.16 Crore will be available with the state.
