  • The projects will be implemented at a total cost of Rs 541 crore.
  • water supply projects built under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation in Siwan Municipal Council and Chapra Municipal Corporation
  • laid the foundation stone of the Munger water supply scheme under the AMRUT Mission
  • laid the foundation stone of the Jamalpur water supply scheme under the AMRUT Mission in Jamalpur Municipal Council
  • inaugurate sewerage treatment plants built under Namami Gange at Beur and Karmalichak in Patna Municipal Corporation
  • laid the foundation stone of the Muzaffarpur Riverfront Development Scheme, being built under Namami Gange. Under the scheme, three ghats of Muzaffarpur – Chandwara Ghat, Poorvi Akhada Ghat and Seedhi Ghat will be developed.

  • The member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India, former Union minister and veteran leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Raghuvansh Prasad Singh passed away. He also represented Vaishali constituency of Bihar.

States’ Startup Ranking Exercise by DPIIT

  • The second edition of the States’ Startup Ranking Exercise was conducted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
  • Gujarat has been categorised as the best performer among all States and one Union Territory (UT), Delhi.
  • Karnataka and Kerala have been ranked as ‘top performers’
  • Bihar, Odisha and Rajasthan have been ranked as the ‘leaders’.

NSO’s Report on Literacy Rate

NSO’s Report on Literacy Rate
  • The National Statistical Office (NSO) released a report titled ‘Household Social Consumption: Education’. As per the report Kerala topped the list while Andhra Pradesh emerged as the least literate state, standing below Bihar.
  • Delhi stands at second position with 89% literacy rate. Uttarakhand is at number three with a literacy rate of 87.6% while Assam freezes at number four with 85.9% literacy rate.
