The High Court of Bangladesh has announced ‘Joy Bangla’ as the national slogan of Bangladesh. The court has directed the authorities to ensure that teachers and students use the slogan after assembly. The two-judge bench of High Court asked the authorities to take mandatory steps so that all the people holding constitutional posts and state officials use ‘Joy Bangla’ after their speeches on national days and other appropriate occasions.
“Shaheed Dibash” which is also known as ‘Amar Ekushey’ was noticed on 21st of February in Bangladesh to commemorate and to pay tribute to the martyrs of language movement who lost their lives during Pakistani police firing on 21st of February 1952 in Dhaka.
The High Commission of India in Bangladesh hosted the Seminar on Indian Defence Equipment in Dhaka which was attended by 12 Indian firms. Aim of the seminar was to pursue further cooperation between India and Bangladesh in the field of defence technologies.
