Odisha Extends Madhu Babu Pension Benefits To Transgender Community

  • The Odisha government has decided to include transgender community under its social welfare scheme- Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY).
  • In order to avail the benefit, transgenders will have to visit the official website of MBPY and apply for the pension in the given form.
  • Pension ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 900 will be provided to them in accordance with their age group.
  • The CM has also ordered to provide additional Rs 1000 Covid financial assistance to Madhu Babu pensioners.
  • The Madhu Babu Pension Yojana (MBPY) is a pension scheme introduced in the Indian State of Odisha with the objective of providing financial assistance to the destitute elderly and destitute differently-abled persons in the state. The chief minister of Odisha launched the Madhu Babu pension scheme by merging the two pension schemes, i.e., name, Revised Old Age Pension Rules, 1989, and Disability Pension Rules, 1985.

  • The Union Cabinet led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi passed a new pan India Central Sector Scheme under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
  • The foremost goal of the scheme is to produce a medium-long term debt financing facility for investment in viable projects for post-harvest management Infrastructure and community farming assets through interest subvention and financial support.

  • Karnataka’s Chief Minister B. S. Yediyurappa began Weavers Sammaan Yojana on 6th July. Under this scheme, 19,744 handloom weavers will get yearly financial support of two thousand rupees through Direct Benefit Transfer.

Odisha Govt starts ‘Balaram Yojana’ to give agricultural loan to landless farmers

  • The Odisha government has started a scheme ‘Balaram’ to give agricultural credit of Rs 1,040 crore to landless farmers who are facing difficulties because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Almost seven lakh landless cultivators will be helped from the programme in the next two years.

  • Union Human Resource Development Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs and Ministry of Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju talked to students here under the Fit India drive by the Government of India. Olympic medal winner badminton player Ms. P.V Sindhu and Indian football team Captain Shri. Sunil Chhetri was also there at the launch of the “Fit Hai To Hit Hai India” program arranged under the Fit India campaign.

  • In Madhya Pradesh, the school bell will be ringing in the homes of the state too from July 6. Children will learn, do yoga, write and listen to stories and prepare notes on them.

Govt starts PM FPE scheme

  • The government on 29th June started the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) scheme as a part of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ and as a part of Prime Minister’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’. It will serve 8 lakh units through access to information, training, better exposure and formalization.

‘Sankalp Parva’ on the call of Prime Minister by Ministry of Culture from 28th June to 12th July 2020

  • The Union Ministry of Culture has declared on 27th June 2020 that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Ministry has selected to commemorate a 2-week long tree plantation campaign called ‘Sankalp Parva’ from 28th June to 12th July 2020. This was told by the Union Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge) Prahlad Joshi.
