The Jammu and Kashmir government set up a 10-member biodiversity council to document the biodiversity of the union territory. This council will maintain a Peoples Biodiversity Register (PBR) with the help of representatives from local governance bodies.

After the integration of these two UTs, a total of 26 States /UTs Connected with the Scheme and will benefit about 65 crore people.
J&K official languages Bill 2020 approved by the Union Cabinet.
According to the J&K official languages Bill 2020, the official languages in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir will be Kashmiri, Dogri and Hindi along with Urdu and English.
