Former Australia skipper and Crystal Palace midfielder Mile Jedinak announced his retirement from football at the age of 35.
Jedinak who earned 79 caps for the Socceroos and led them to the 2015 Asian Cup title, had said he hoped to continue playing after being released by Aston Villa last year.
GOI is set to appoint seasoned diplomat Vikram Doraiswami as India’s next envoy to Bangladesh.
He will succeed Riva Ganguly Das in Dhaka.
Doraiswami, a 1992 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is currently serving as an additional secretary in-charge of international organizations and summits at the headquarters of the external affairs ministry in Delhi.
Vidhu P Nair, Foreign Service Officer of batch 2002, has been appointed as the next ambassador of India to Turkmenistan, as per the Ministry of External Affairs.
Nair is presently serving as the Director in the ministry.
