Annika Sorenstam appointed as president of the International Golf Federation

• The International Golf Federation (IGF) designated Annika Sorenstam as its new president effective January 1, 2021.
• IGF President, Peter Dawson, is stepping down after 10  years of leadership and service.  Sorenstam, a 72-time winner on the LPGA Tour and former No. 1 from Sweden.

Zena Wooldridge designated as World Squash Federation President

• Zena Wooldridge from England has been chosen as the World Squash Federation President. She will become the 10th WSF President to work since the Federation’s inception in 1967.

Kuwait emir reappoints Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid as prime minister

• Kuwait Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah has re-appointed Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah as their prime minister.
• The move appears two days after Sheikh Sabah submitted his government’s resignation in a procedural step following parliamentary polls.

Anil Soni designated the first CEO of The WHO Foundation

Bata appoints Sandeep Kataria as global CEO

• Footwear major Bata Shoe Organization has selected Sandeep Kataria as the new global Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
• He is the first Indian to be elected to the global role of Bata (Headquarter-Lausanne, Switzerland). He takes over from Alexis Nasard, who has stepped down after almost five years in the role.

New Zealand’s Greg Barclay appointed as new ICC Chairman

• The new appointment arrives a day after Donald Trump fired Defence Secretary Mark Esper and designated Chris Miller, as the Acting Secretary.

Joe Biden becomes the president of US

• Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. has defeated Donald Trump to come up the 46th U.S. president. Biden will become the oldest president-elect in USA history and the first to oust a sitting commander-in-chief after one term since Bill Clinton defeated George H.W. Bush in 1992.
