India is ranked at the second place in Global Animal Protection Index 2020. This Index was declared by International animal welfare charity “World Animal Protection” released. India has attained a C ranking in the index. India was ranked along with Spain, Mexico, France and New Zealand. Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Austria are rated with the highest scores, which is encouraging.

Byju Classes’ founder Byju Raveendran and Zomato’s co-founder Gaurav Gupta are among the five Indians named by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in its new list of 115 Young Global Leaders. Raveendran, who released Byju’s as a learning app in 2015, calls himself a teacher by choice and an entrepreneur by chance. Gupta’s Zomato has been a pioneering food technology start-up, which he released as a table reservation business and then scaled it up across India, the UAE and Australia. The other three Indians on the list includes Tara Singh Vachani (CEO of Antara Senior Living), Vinati Mutreja (Managing Director and CEO, Vinati Organics Limited), Swapan Mehra (CEO, Iora Ecological Solutions).
Gujarat has topped the list for domestic solar rooftop installations with 64% of domestic solar installations. Nearly 50,915 systems being fixed on domestic rooftops in the State as on March 2, 2020. The State government of Gujarat has adopted a solar rooftop scheme “Surya Gujarat” to cover about eight lakh domestic electricity consumers under the scheme by 2022.
India remained the world’s second largest arms importer during the period 2015-19, with Russia being the largest supplier though Moscow’s share of the Indian weapons market rejected from 72% to 56%, a leading think tank that tracks arms transfers stated in its annual report. In its annual “Trends in international arms transfers 2019″ report, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) listed the world’s top five arms importers during the five-year period as Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Australia and China.
Bangladesh Rehabilitation Assistance Committee (BRAC) is an international development organization that has topped the list of top 500 Global Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). The list of the top 500 global NGOs of year 2020 was delivered by Geneva-based organization NGO Adviser. The Bangladesh based international development organization, BRAC has retained its 1st rank in the list for the 5th consecutive year.
