Hockey Legend Ashok Kumar to be Conferred with Mohun Bagan Lifetime Achievement Award

• Ashok Kumar will be conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by city’s iconic club Mohun Bagan on the occasion of its foundation day in a virtual ceremony in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Besides the 1975 gold, the 70-year-old Kumar had also won bronze (1971) and silver (1973) medals in World Cups, besides a bronze medal in the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Mohun Bagan Ratna Award 2020 Conferred to Gurbux Singh and Palash Nandy

• Persons named for Mohun Bagan Ratna Award 2020 by the football club Mohun Bagan’s executive committee are Hockey legend Gurbux Singh and former first-class cricketer Palash Nandy.
• The award is presented every year by Mohun Bagan on the occasion of its foundation day on 29 July.

ISRO Chief K Sivan to be Conferred with 2020 Von Karman Award By IAA

• ISRO Chief Dr Kailasavadivoo Sivan has been named as the winner of the 2020 Von Karman Award by the Paris-based International Academy of Astronautics (IAA).
• The award will be conferred upon K Sivan in March 2021 in Paris.
• Prior to K Sivan, only two Indians have been the recipients of this award. They were Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan and U.R. Rao.

Kezang D Thongdok bags Dada Saheb Phalke Award 2020

• Arunachal Pradesh filmmaker Kezang D Thongdok has bagged the Dada Saheb Phalke Award 2020 for a short documentary “Chi Lupo”. Chi Lupo, documented by Kezang D Thongdok is a short documentary on honey hunting.
• Chi Lupo sketches the tradition of honey hunting practiced in the Shertukpen community in which “Chi” means honey while “Lipo” means hunters.

Chhattisgarh receives “elites excellence awards -2020”

• The Mukhyamantri Darpan and mobile App which contains the details of all the flagship schemes of the Chhattisgarh government including the ambitious ‘Suraji Gaon Yojna’ has been awarded “Elites Excellence Awards-2020” at the national level.
• The state of Chhattisgarh has been awarded this honour by the country’s prestigious IT institution Elites Technomedia under the ‘Digital India initiative’.

TamilNadu Chief Minister Palaniswami honored with Paul Harris Fellow

NTPC Ltd won 2019 CII-ITC Sustainability Awards 2020

International Olympic Committee (IOC) awarded with EU Green Building Leadership Award 2020

• As per the announcement by IOC, Olympic House also holds the rigorous LEED Platinum certification for one of the most sustainable buildings in the world.

Valtteri Bottas clinches Austrian Grand Prix 2020
