The India Vietnam Business Forum was held via video conference on October 20, 2020. During the meet, both sides reaffirmed the growing bilateral trade and the investment ties between both nations.
The Business Forum between India and Vietnam was co-organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and India Chamber of Commerce.
Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) is holding surplus stocks of cotton with an aim to boost exports of cotton to Bangladesh and Vietnam.
A memorandum of understanding is being worked out to export 1.5-2 million bales (of 170 kilogrammes each) of cotton to Bangladesh while the state-run CCI will also set up its own warehouse in Vietnam to boost cotton exports.
On June 26, 2020, the 36th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit was carried out by video conference on the theme “Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN”. The summit was led by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc as Vietnam is ASEAN’s chair in 2020.
