Piyush Goyal introduces the Dhigawara-Bandikui section of NWR

• The Union Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal has introduced the newly electrified Dhigawara-Bandikui section of North Western Railway (NWR) in the state of Rajasthan.
• The Minister also flagged off the first train on this recently electrified route. The Dhigawara-Bandikui section is on the Delhi-Ajmer route via Jaipur.

IRCTC to begin ‘Bharat Darshan Yatra’ on December

• Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will be commencing ‘Bharat Darshan–Dakshin Bharat Yatra’ from December 12.
• The Bharat Darshan Yatra will begin from Hyderabad and Secunderabad from December 12 to 18.
• The theme of this yatra will be ‘Show India to Indians’.

Meri Saheli initiative launched by Indian Railways

• Indian Railways has launched the ‘Meri Saheli’ initiative which focuses on the safety of women passengers travelling through trains across all the zones. It was launched as a pilot project in the South Eastern Railway in September 2020.

RPF launches ‘Meri Saheli’ initiative on AP Express

• Railway Protection Force (RPF), Visakhapatnam has started implementing ‘Meri Saheli’ initiative in AP Express (Visakhapatnam to New Delhi), in order to provide proactive security to women passengers.
• The objective of the scheme: to provide safety and security to women passengers travelling in trains throughout their journey.
