Footwear training center started by KVIC in Delhi

  • A first-of-its-kind footwear training center for the marginalized community was inaugurated here by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC).
  • It will provide a comprehensive two-month training program to leather artisans for making high-quality footwear.
  • The center has been established with the help of the Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTI), Agra, a unit of the MSME ministry.
  • The training center will also provide logistics support to the artisans in starting their own shoe-making business once their two-month training is completed.
  • The artisans will also be provided a tool kit worth Rs 5,000 for carrying out their activities in the future.
  • The Khadi and Village Industries Commission is also setting up a similar footwear training center in Varanasi.

MoU inked between Indian oil, NTPC Ltd, and SDMC for Waste to Energy plant in Delhi

  • A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked on Waste to Energy plant at Okhla, Delhi, between Indian Oil, NTPC Ltd and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
  • The plant has the potential to process 17500 tons of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) per annum from municipal solid garbage to generate Syngas which is used to produce electricity.

  • The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology defined by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to rank Indian institutes of higher education in the nation. The NIRF Pharmacy Colleges Ranking 2020 has been declared by the HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal on June 11, 2020. Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi has topped the list with 80.5 score out of 100.

Petroleum Minister gives to the nation, 56 CNG stations

  • Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan committed to the nation, 56 CNG stations scattered over 11 States and Union Territories. These stations are in Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

NTPC launches Hydrogen-powered cars and buses in Leh and New Delhi

  • National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. has launched Hydrogen fuel based cars and buses in Leh and New Delhi that will prove very beneficial in reducing carbon emissions into the environment.
  • This project got implemented under the Supervision and guidance of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
