Mizoram ‘happiest’ state as per ‘India Happiness Report 2020’

  • Mizoram has been ranked first in the India Happiness Report 2020 which is India’s first Happiness Report covering all states and Union Territories measuring happiness across the country.
  • In the overall ranking, Mizoram is first, Punjab is second while Andaman & Nicobar Island is third.

  • The state government of Mizoram has planned to set up five sports schools in different parts of the State.
  • The central government has released the first installment of funds for the purpose. the State government has taken up plans to upgrade the sports infrastructures

Zoram Mega Food Park in Mizoram is e-inaugurated by Harsimrat Kaur Badal

  • The Zoram Mega Food Park Ltd at Kolasib in Mizoram has been  e-inaugurated by Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal through virtual conference.
  • The Mega Food Park is developed with an aim to develop the North-Eastern region and is in line to achieve Atmanirbhar Bharat.
  • The Food Park has been built at a cost of Rs.75 crore and spread over 55 Acres of land will directly benefit over 25,000 farmers.

  • Giving the industry status to sports would also assure sustainability, proper registration as well as management of sports.

Mizoram observes“Chapchar Kut” the festival of Mizos

Chapchar Kut

The celebration of festival “Chapchar Kut” has started in the state of Mizoram. Chapchar Kut is the biggest and the most joyful spring festival of Mizos. This festival is held when the bamboos and trees that have been cut down are being awaited to dry to be burnt for jhumming. The celebrations of the festival began with mega event held at Aizawl.

Mizoram govt to organise “Zo Kutpui” to unify Mizo tribes

Mizoram government will organise Zo Festival under the banner Zo Kutpui in at least 10 different cities across the globe. The first festival would be held at Vanghmun, a hub town of Mizos in neighbouring Tripura from January 9 to 11. The event aims at re-unifying and strengthening brotherhood among different tribes of Mizo. It will also be organised in Maryland in USA, Tahan in Myanmar, Churachandpur in Manipur and Bangladesh.
