To integrate AI Curriculum in 200 schools in India, CBSE ties up with IBM

  • The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the high school curriculum for Grade XI and XII for the current academic year (2020 – 2021) has been developed in collaboration with IBM.
  • The curriculum is part of CBSE’s Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action (SEWA) program.
  • The initiative is aimed at helping students to learn AI skills for social good.
  • This curriculum will be launched in around 200 schools across Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Kerala, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab (13 states of India)

IBM and Tech Mahindra tie-up to set up innovation centers

  • International Business Machines Corporation(IBM) has tied-up with Tech Mahindra Limited to setup innovation centers in Bengaluru for setting up cloud based infrastructure in India. Later more will centers will be setup in different parts of US and United Kingdom.

“Watson Assistant for citizens” AI bot by IBM launched

  • IBM has launched an Artificial intelligence based platform named ” Watson Assistant for Citizens” to address queries related to COVID-19.
  • It uses Natural Language Processing and Artifical intelligence to learn and create a suitable response to the queries of the users.

Arvind Krishna appointed as CEO of IBM

Indian-origin technology executive Arvind Krishna has been elected as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of American IT giant IBM. He will take charge as company CEO and member of the Board of Directors effective April 6. Krishna is currently IBM Senior Vice President for Cloud and Cognitive Software, he had joined IBM in 1990. Krishna will replace Rometty, who will retire after almost 40 years with the company.
