Cabinet permits RBI’s proposal to merge Lakshmi Vilas Bank with DBS Bank

Union Cabinet has accepted the merger of capital-starved Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) with DBS Bank India.
The Reserve Bank of India on 17 November stated the merger of the lender with the Indian arm of Singapore’s DBS Bank.

According to DBS, India’s GDP to contract 6% in FY21

Singaporean brokerage firm DBS Bank Ltd has estimated that the Indian economy will contract by 6 percent in FY21 (2020-21).
In its previous forecast, DBS had estimated – 4.8 percent growth for FY21.
