  • The central government, Tamil Nadu state government and the World Bank on 29th June inked loan ventures worth $250 million for two projects to encourage low-income groups in the state to have access to affordable housing.

Govt starts PM FPE scheme

  • The government on 29th June started the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) scheme as a part of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ and as a part of Prime Minister’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’. It will serve 8 lakh units through access to information, training, better exposure and formalization.

NCAER forecasts India’s GDP growth at 1.3% in FY21

  • National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) announced the Indian economy could be developing at 1.3% in FY21 as a base case scenario. This prediction is based on the incorporation of the monetary and fiscal stimulus measures undertaken by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the central government.

‘Sankalp Parva’ on the call of Prime Minister by Ministry of Culture from 28th June to 12th July 2020

  • The Union Ministry of Culture has declared on 27th June 2020 that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Ministry has selected to commemorate a 2-week long tree plantation campaign called ‘Sankalp Parva’ from 28th June to 12th July 2020. This was told by the Union Minister of State for Culture (Independent Charge) Prahlad Joshi.

Govt to give 2% interest subsidy to ‘Shishu’ borrowers under Mudra Yojna

  • The government on 24th June planned to give 2% interest subvention to borrowers under the ‘Shishu’ section of the flagship Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY). Collateral free loans of up to ₹50,000 are provided to beneficiaries.

  • The Central minister stated that in 2019-20 Telangana was allotted with ₹ 259.14 Crore and only ₹ 105.52 Crore could be delivered by the Government of India as State was incapable to avail the second installment due to non-reporting of physical progress and non-submission of the proper expenditure plan.

  • The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has started a new platform, named Yukti 2.0, which is an online depository for innovative concepts aimed at fostering and promoting innovation among students and teachers. The portal, named Yukti 2.0, was originally promoted with the name Massive Indian Novelty Depository (MIND).
