Bangladesh Pace Bowler Kazi Anik got two-year ban for the doping violation

• The Bangladesh national cricket board has handed over a two-year ban to young pacer Kazi Anik Islam for failing a dope test in 2018. The two-year ban of the 21-year-old has begun on February 8, 2019.

Vikram Doraiswami to be appointed as India’s new envoy to Bangladesh

• GOI is set to appoint seasoned diplomat Vikram Doraiswami as India’s next envoy to Bangladesh.
• He will succeed Riva Ganguly Das in Dhaka.
• Doraiswami, a 1992 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is currently serving as an additional secretary in-charge of international organizations and summits at the headquarters of the external affairs ministry in Delhi.

Facebook starts 3rd party fact check system in Bangladesh

• Facebook has declared to start a third party fact-checking system in Bangladesh.
• Facebook has tied-up with an Indian fact-checking website “Boom” for a third party fact-checking system in Bangladesh.
• The fact-checking system will concentrate on discouraging the spread of fake news in the country by reviewing and rating the stories, including photos and videos.
