• Jehan Daruvala created history, as he became the first Indian to win a Formula 2 race at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, Bahrain.
• This was the final race of the F2 season. The Formula 2 Championship is a second-tier single-seater racing championship.

Lewis Hamilton wins Bahrain Grand Prix 2020

• Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes-Great Britain) has won the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix at Bahrain International Circuit, Bahrain.
• The race was the 15th round of the 2020 Formula One World Championship. This is the 11th victory for Hamilton of the term, and the 95th F1 win of his career.

Bahrain’s long-serving PM Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa passes away

• Bahrain’s Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman al-Khalifa has passed away at 84.
• He was not only the longest-serving PM of Bahrain, but he was the world’s longest-serving prime minister. He had taken the post since independence in 1971.

Fourth edition of Asian Youth Para Games to be organized in Bahrain in December 2021

• The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) on 17th June declared that Bahrain will host the fourth edition of the Asian Youth Para Games from December 1 to 10 next year.
