India will host the Summit of the G20 Group in 2023. India was earlier slated to host the summit in 2022.
India and Indonesia have interchanged their respective hosting year of G20 as Indonesia would also host the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2023.
The 27th ASEAN regional forum held recently and the Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan represented India. He stated that India will co-chair ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) workshops on port security and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The 8th East Asia Summit (Economic Ministers’ Meeting) was held virtually on 28 August 2020 which was attended by the Economic ministers from the 10 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) members and eight other nations.
The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal represented India in the Summit.
Objective: to strengthen the regional supply chains, become resilient during this challenging time of Covid-19 pandemic.

A two day, 6th Round Table of ASEAN-India Network of Think Tanks (AINTT) held virtually. It was organized by The Ministry of External Affairs in partnership with the Foreign Ministry of Thailand.

On June 26, 2020, the 36th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit was carried out by video conference on the theme “Cohesive and Responsive ASEAN”. The summit was led by Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc as Vietnam is ASEAN’s chair in 2020.
