‘Fagli’ festival observed in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh

The traditional ‘Fagli’ festival was observed in Yangpa village of Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh to observe the “victory of good over evil”. This festival is celebrated to mark the end of winter or the beginning of spring. It is celebrated in the entire valley on the moonless night or Amavasya.
“NIGHA” app released by Andhra govt to ensure ‘clean and healthy’ elections

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has released ‘NIGHA’ app to ensure ‘clean and healthy’ elections. This would be done by limiting the use of money and alcohol in the upcoming local body elections. The Panchayat Raj Department has set up the NIGHA app to empower common citizens to lodge complaints seamlessly.

LT Gen KJS Dhillon will take charge as DG DIA & DCIDS

Lt Gen KJS Dhillon will take the charge of Director-General(DG), Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) and Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (DCIDS). DIA and DCIDS is a department that comes under the Chief of Defence Staff in the newly created Department of Military Affairs. DIA and DCIDS are responsible for collating technical as well as human intelligence for the three armed forces.

National Crime Records Bureau celebrates its 35th Inception Day

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) observed its 35th Inception Day on 12th March 2020. Bhawna Dehariya scales Australia’s Mount Kosciuszko

Indian mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya has successfully climbed Mount Kosciuszko (2,228-metres), the highest mountain peak in Australia on the occasion of Holi. Dehariya had climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (5, 895 meters), the highest mountain peak in Tanzania on the occasion of Diwali in the year 2019 and also felt fortunate that she had celebrated 2 biggest festivals of India at the mountain peaks.
Surjit Singh Deswal receives additional charge of BSF DG

Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Haryana cadre Surjit Singh Deswal took over the additional charge of Director General (DG) of Border Security Force (BSF). Deswal, a 1984-batch IPS officer, is currently the Director-General of Indo-Tibet Border Police.
