Third phase of the ambitious Back to Village (B2V) programme will start from October 2 to 12, this year in J&K. The program is an introductory and interactive programme to understand the people’s grievances and demands.
A project titled ‘Rejuvenating Watersheds for Agriculture Resilience through Innovative Development (REWARD)’ recently approved by the Karnataka govt.
The purpose of the project is to ensure soil and water conservation in 20 taluks with low groundwater levels in Karnataka.
The total cost of this project is Rs 600 crore out of which World Bank will fund 70% of the project amount, which amounts to Rs 420 crore, whereas, 30% of the expenses (Rs 180 crore) will be borne by the state government itself.

The Jammu and Kashmir government set up a 10-member biodiversity council to document the biodiversity of the union territory. This council will maintain a Peoples Biodiversity Register (PBR) with the help of representatives from local governance bodies.
