  • To promote digital education when the whole world is suffering from COVID-19, VidyaDaan 2.0 portal has been launched by HRD minister , Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Using this portal students can enroll in different courses using DIKHSA app and teachers can contribute by adding there courses on this portal.

IIIT-Delhi develops WashKaro app to guide for COVID-19

  • “WashKaro” app has been launched by Indian Institute of Information Technology, Delhi(IIIT, Delhi). This app will guide people about the nearby containment zones using GPS data so that they can avoid visiting those places at all cost.

Wardbot for Corona patients developed by IIT Ropar

  • This device will be very beneficial in reducing the pace of virus as it will reduce human to human interaction

  • For the rapid detection of pathogens, a device named “bug sniffer” has been prepared by the researchers at the Agharkar Research Institute (ARI), Pune.
  • Bug Sniffer is a sensitive and low-cost sensor that has been developed with the purpose of rapid detection of pathogens.

Delhi govt launched Assess Koro Na app

  • To stop the virus from spreading, Delhi government has launched Assess koro na app for Door to door analysis of the people in the hotspots and containment zones.
  • This app will analyze their symptoms and provide realtime data that will prove beneficial in containing the virus.

Kisan Rath mobile app launched

  • Kisan Rath mobile app has been launched by Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar for easy transportation of foodgrains and other perishable items during the lockdown. 
  • This app has been developed by National Informatics Center(NIC).

DRDO rolls out new products to allow COVID-19 disinfection process

  • The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has rolled out new products viz “Automatic Mist Based Sanitiser Dispensing Unit” and “UV Sanitisation Box and Hand-held UV device” to enable COVID-19 disinfection process.
  • The automatic Mist Based Sanitiser Dispensing Unit is based on water mist aerator technology.
  • UV Sanitisation Box will be used for the reason of disinfecting personal belongings such as mobile phones, tablets, purse, currency, the cover of office files, etc.

CSIR-NAL prepares Personal Protective Coverall Suit

CSIR-NAL prepares Personal Protective Coverall Suit
  • CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories has prepared Personal Protective Coverall Suit in association with MAF Clothing Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru.
  • The polypropylene spun laminated multi-layered non-woven fabric based suit has been prepared for the front line health workers i.e. Doctors, Nurses, Paramedical staff, and Health Care workers working round the clock on COVID-19 mitigation.

CSIR-CFTRI’s Protein-Enriched Biscuits supplied to COVID-19 Patients

  • The Mysuru-based CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) has supplied high-protein biscuits to the COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi.
  • CFTRI supplied 500 kg of high-protein biscuits and 500 kg of high-protein rusks to the Dietetics department of AIIMS to provide to the patients.
