Russia to launch Arktika-M satellite by end of this year

  • Russia has announced to launch Arctic climate and environment monitoring satellite. It will be launching country’s first Arktika-M satellite form the Balkonur space center in Decemeber 2020.
  • This satellite will collect meteorological data in the polar regions of the earth to improve weather forecast

Central road research institute develops “Kisan Sabha App”

  • Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) has developed ” Kisan Sabha App” with the aim to connect farmers to the mandi dealers and to the truck drivers to mandi owners . The whole process will be connecting farmers to the supply chain and to the freight management system of the country. 

NASA’s first Mars helicopter “Ingenuity” named by Indian-origin girl Vaneeza Rupani

  • Indian Origin girl from Alabama has named the first helicopter “Ingenuity” that will be launched to the Red planet this summer with  National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Mars rover Perseverance .
  • She participated in “Name the rover ” contest held by NASA to name the rover Perseverance 
  • It is expected to land on Mars in February 2021. It will be launched along with rover Perseverance as part of the Mars Mission 2020.

India’s first plasma therapy starts in KGMU, Lucknow

  • King George’s medical University (KGMU) of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh has become the first institute in the country to start  using plasma therapy for the possible treatment of COVID-19.
  • Plasma therapy uses antibodies from the patients’ that have successfully recovered from the COVID-19 and transplanting them in the patient that is not abe to generate anti bodies to recover from this deadly virus.
