Cabinet approved the Central Sector Scheme of funding facility under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund

• The Union Cabinet led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi passed a new pan India Central Sector Scheme under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
• The foremost goal of the scheme is to produce a medium-long term debt financing facility for investment in viable projects for post-harvest management Infrastructure and community farming assets through interest subvention and financial support.

Veteran Bollywood actor Jagdeep passes away

• Veteran Actor-comedian Jagdeep, famous for his role as Soorma Bhopali in “Sholay”, passed away on 8^th July at his home. He was 81. The actor, original name Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri, was not keeping well.

Kannada actor Susheel Gowda passes away by suicide

• Actor and fitness trainer Susheel Gowda has passed away by suicide in his hometown Mandya in Karnataka. An investigation is now underway, K Parashuram, Mandya Superintendent of Police.

The book is a patriotic story about the bravery and selfless passion of Jaswant Singh Rawat who is one of the legendary Garhwali soldiers who fought in the Indo-Chinese battle of Nuranang in 1962.

Indian Navy finishes “Operation Samudra Setu”

• The Operation Samudra Setu was started on 5th May 2020 by the Indian Navy. The Operation Samudra Setu lasted over 55 days in which 3,992 Indian Citizens were brought back to their homeland by the sea route by the Indian Navy.

MoU between CBDT and SEBI inked

• A legal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked on 8th July between the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for data exchange between the two organizations.
• MoU will promote the sharing of data and information between SEBI and CBDT on an automatic and regular basis.

Cabinet endorses capital infusion of Rs 12,450 crore in 3 state-run insurance companies

• The Union Cabinet on 8^th July authorized capital infusion of Rs 12,450 crore for three public sector general insurance companies namely Oriental Insurance Company Ltd, National Insurance Company Ltd & United India Insurance Company Ltd (consisting Rs 25,00 crore infused in FY 2019-20).
