UPI AutoPay facility started by NPCI for recurring payment

NPCI has launched the functionality of UPI AutoPay for recurring payments.

Benefits:

Customers can now enable recurring e-mandate using any UPI application for recurring payments such as mobile bills, electricity bills, EMI payments, entertainment/OTT subscriptions, insurance, mutual funds, and loan payments, paying for transit/metro payments among others of up to Rs. 2000. If the amount exceeds Rs. 2000, customers have to execute every mandate with UPI PIN.

“Emergency Medical Services” to be established in Male

India and Maldives signed an agreement to establish “Emergency Medical Services” in Male.
The Emergency Medical Service is financed by India under grant assistance of 20 million USD for neighboring countries to increase the collaboration between the countries.

Chennai launched Plasma blood bank

Chennai health dept. has launched a plasma blood bank to facilitate convalescent plasma therapy to COVID-19 patients.
It is inaugurated by the State Health Minister Dr. C Vijayabhaskar at the Government Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital in the city. It has the facility for seven people to donate blood plasma at a time.

KURMA mobile app launched by Prakash Javadekar to conserve Indian turtles

Union Environment and Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar hailed the KURMA mobile application as a unique tool for tracking and reporting Indian turtles.
The Mobile Application, KURMA, was launched on 23rd May this year on the occasion of World Turtle Day. The citizen science initiative aims at the conservation of turtles and tortoises.

Veteran Odia actor Bijay Mohanty passes away

Odia film actor and director Bijay Mohanty passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar at the age of 70 after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
He was honoured with the Jayadev Award in 2014. He was also honoured with the National Award for his contribution to art and literature.

US & India conduct joint naval exercise

A US carrier strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz conducted a “cooperative” exercise with Indian warships in the Indian Ocean on Monday.
The cooperative exercises took place near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and transited through the Indian Ocean region.
