Nepal-based Ang Rita Sherpa, the first man to climb Mount Everest 10 times, passed away. He was therefore also known as the “snow leopard” for his climbing skills.

Veteran scholar of Indian classical dance, art, architecture and art history, Dr Kapila Vatsyayan passed away. She was the founding Director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. She was the former Member of Parliament and had served as Education Secretary.
Former Maharashtra cricketer Sadashiv Patil, who played as medium-pacer, has passed away. He was 86. Patil had represented India in only one Test and played 36 first-class matches over 11 seasons between 1952 and 1964.
