National Crime Records Bureau celebrates its 35th Inception Day

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) observed its 35th Inception Day on 12th March 2020. On the occasion of inception day of NCRB, Union Minister of State for Home Shri Nityanand Rai released Crime Multi Agency Centre (Cri-MAC) and National Cybercrime Training Centre (NCTC). A function was organized on the occasion of inception day of NCRB and featured the participation of DGs and Senior officers from various central and state police organizations.

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani has launched the “National Conference on Women in Police and CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces)”. The national conference was organized in New Delhi and was organized by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR & D). During the conference, a hand-out- ‘BPR & D Mirror- Gender Bender’ and a book titled “To Greater Heights” was also released by Smriti Irani.

The Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey started the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship programme in the Indian Institute of Management in Bengaluru. The Fellowship is started as part of the Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood (SANKALP) programme of the ministry to provide skilled manpower for District Skill Committees to make the District Skill Development plan.

Union Govt. to make sanitary Napkin Disposal bags mandatory from January 2021

Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar has declared that Sanitary napkin makers will be asked to supply a biodegradable bag with each napkin from January 2021. Javadekar stated that the sanitation norms for Corporations and municipalities will now be applied to villages with a population of more than three thousand.

Mizoram observes“Chapchar Kut” the festival of Mizos

The celebration of festival “Chapchar Kut” has started in the state of Mizoram. Chapchar Kut is the biggest and the most joyful spring festival of Mizos. This festival is held when the bamboos and trees that have been cut down are being awaited to dry to be burnt for jhumming. The celebrations of the festival began with mega event held at Aizawl.

EPFO lowers interest rate on deposits to 8.5% for 2019-20

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), the retirement fund body has slashed the interest rate from 8.65% to 8.50% on provident fund deposits for the financial year 2019-20. The announcement of the reduced interest rate was made by Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar.

GoI aims to replace All level crossings on NH by Over/under Bridges

The Union Government of India is foretelling to replace all level crossings on National Highways by Over/under Bridges. The replacement of all the level crossings on National Highways by Road Over Bridges or Road Under Bridges will be executed under the Setu Bharatam scheme. The whole replacement work will be executed by Road Transport and Highways Ministry.

Health Ministry launches workshop to manage COVID-19

New Delhi launches a national level Training Workshop on COVID-19 Management for all the states and hospitals. The workshop was managed by the Health Ministry targets to train the trainers on various aspects to tackle the situation related to novel Coronavirus. Infection prevention, hospital preparedness, disinfection and biomedical waste management, community engagement, non-pharmaceutical interventions are some aspects on which training will be provided to the trainers

New Delhi hosts 35th edition of AAHAR, Food and Hospitality fair

New Delhi hosts the 35th edition of AAHAR – the Food and Hospitality fair which has been launched by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) with support of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Agriculture and Processed Food Products Development Authority and several apex industry associations. The fair will showcase a wide range of products from over 750 participants from India and overseas.
