Delhi CM declares ‘Operation Shield’ to fight COVID-19

  • Delhi Government has released the ‘Operation SHIELD’ to check the spread of COVID-19 in the national capital.
  • The Operation Shield will be executed in 21 localities identified as containment zones in Delhi.
  • In the Operation SHIELD: S is Sealing of area; H is Home quarantine; I is Isolation of infected patients; E is Essential services ensured; L is Local sanitization; D is Door to door survey.

$2.9 million aid from USAID to India for Coronavirus

  • US Agency for International development(USAID) has provided an aid of $2.1 million to India to support the fight against COVID-19 . This aid has been provided to speed up the process of stopping the coronavirus from spreading and to prevent local transmission.

Online competition Samadhan launched by MHRD to tackle COVID-19

MSMEs to get emergency working capital by SIDBI

  • Small Industries Development Bank of India(SIDBIwill provide emergency working capital of Rs. 1 Crore to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). 
  • This amount will be provided at an interest rate of 5% within 48 hours under the SIDBI Assistance to Facilitate Emergency response against Coronavirus (SAFE).

Civil Aviation Ministry launched “Lifeline UDAN”

  • This initiative will ensure sufficient supply of these products all over the country.

Indian Air force launches “Operation Sanjeevani”

    • The Indian air force has launched “Operation Sanjeevani” to supply 6.2 tonnes of medical equipment and medicines to the Maldives via cargo aircraft “C-130J Super Hercules“.
    • These supplies are required by the Maldives to treat patients affected by COVID-19.

Amitabh Kant to head group for coordinating COVID-19 related activities
