  • An innovative initiative Vidyarthi Vigyaan Manthan 2020-21 (VVM) launched by Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. This programme is designed with an aim to identify the young bright minds with a scientific aptitude among the student group. A highly ambitious student is provided with a mentor to carry forward their education in the field of science.

A total of 24 States now adopted ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’

  • Four additional states, namely Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Nagaland and Uttarakhand adopted the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ plan of the Central government. The remaining states/UT will implement this scheme by March 2021.

  • A new mobile app named ‘Family Safety app’ launched by Microsoft for iOS and Android users where parents will be able to monitor the time spent by the kids on devices and limit hours of play.
  • This app can also be used for location sharing between family members.

  • The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) has been renamed as the Ministry of Education. The Union Cabinet has also approved a new education policy- National Education Policy 2020.
