Malayalam film ‘Jallikattu’ is India’s official entry for the Oscars

  • Malayalam film “Jallikattu”, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, has been chosen as India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film category for the 93rd Academy Awards.
  • Jallikattu is the third Malayalam film after Guru (1997) and Adaminte Makan Abu (2011) to be selected as the country’s official entry for the Oscars.

10th edition of National Science Film Festival begins virtually

  • The four-day long film festival has been collectively organized by Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous agency under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and the Tripura State Council of Science and Technology, Govt. of Tripura from 24 to 27 November 2020.

  • Spread across 30 acres of land, the Jai Bhawani women’s cooperative textile mill will be first in Asia that will operate fully on solar power. The overall cost of setting up the project is around Rs. 100 crore.

  • The Keetham lake, also known as Sur Sarovar, in Agra of Uttar Pradesh has been added to the list of Ramsar sites. More than 106 species of migratory birds rest in Sur Sarovar lake. The water of the lake is obtained from Agra Canal.
