  • Japan and Australia have inked a ‘landmark’ defence agreement in a bid to counter China’s growing influence in the South China Sea and over the Pacific island nations.
  • The deal named Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) was inked between Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison.

China sends ‘world’s first 6G experiment satellite’

  • China has launched into space the world’s first 6G experiment satellite.
  • The 6G satellite was among three Chinese satellites successfully sent into orbit, along with 10 commercial remote sensing satellites developed by Argentinian company Satellogic.
  • This was the 351st rocket of China’s Long March series.

  • Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. has defeated Donald Trump to come up the 46th U.S. president. Biden will become the oldest president-elect in USA history and the first to oust a sitting commander-in-chief after one term since Bill Clinton defeated George H.W. Bush in 1992.

  • Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das on 4th Nov inaugurated and led the 40th meeting of the SAARCFINANCE Governors’ Group.
  • During his opening remarks, the RBI Governor highlighted the strong partnership and co-operation among the member countries in jointly fighting the pandemic. The group received stock of the macroeconomic situation in the SAARC region and discussed the current SAARCFINANCE initiatives.
