- Housing and Urban Development Corporation(HUDCO)has appointed Shiv Das Meena as the new CMD. He is an IAS officer from 1989 batch from Tamil Nadu.
Australia cancels the “Pitch Black 2020” air-combat exercise.

- Australia has cancelled the multilateral air combat training exercise between India and Australia” Pitch Black 2020” due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has already affected more than 190 countries all over the world. This was informed by Air Marshal Meg Hupfeld, Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), in a letter to Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, in mid-April.
- Last edition was held in 2018 and next edition is scheduled to be held in 2022.

ADB to provide a loan of $1 Billion to India for COVID-19

- Asian development Bank(ADB) has signed a loan agreement with Government of India (GoI) of $1 Billion that will be utilized to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Govt. will focus on providing food security, medical kits and other essential equipments like ventilators, PPE kits etc.

- G-20 has launched a new initiative “Access to COVID-19 tools accelerator” under Saudi Arabia. The aim of this initiative is to make sure the availability of all tools necessary to fight COVID-19 to all the members countries.
Men’s World Boxing championship 2021 to be held in Serbia

- Men’s World Boxing Championship 2021 will be held in Belgrade, Serbia. This was supposed to be held in India but International Boxing Association (AIBA) took hosting rights from India as New Delhi didn’t fulfill its obligations to pay host fee as mentioned in the Host City Agreement terms. This event was held earlier in Serbia in 1978.
