All India Police Athletic Championship 2019 has started in the Panchkula District of Haryana. The 68th edition of All India Police Athletic Championship targets to improve India’s performance in the Olympics scheduled to be held in 2028. To achieve this feat, the Government of India has identified more than 15,000 children and has also commenced their training in 284 Sports Authority of India training centres across the country.
National Safety Day is observed on 4 March to commemorate the foundation of the National Safety Council to raise awareness about the safety measures to reduce mishaps and accidents due to lack of awareness. The Campaign is targeted at renewing the commitment of employees and the general public to work safely throughout the year.
The head of the Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha Sanghanayaka Suddhananda Mahathero passed away in Dhaka. He was a revered figure among the Buddhists of Bangladesh. He is famous for running many social service activities particularly the orphanage at Dharmarajika Buddhist Monastery which cares of more than 350 children. Government of Bangladesh honored the Ekushey Award to him in 2012.

The Indian Army’s International Seminar “Pragyan Conclave 2020” has started at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi and has been managed by Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS). The seminar united the national and international experts to discuss the complex topic of ‘Changing Characteristics of Land Warfare and its Impact on the Military’.
A “Student Health Card” scheme has been started in the Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir. The scheme targets to check the malnutrition in school going children and to ensure good health of every school going children. The “Student Health Card” scheme was started during the programme which was organised by Directorate of Mid Day Meal, School Education Department in cooperation with the National Health Mission.
Objective: to ensure good health of school-going children, as health is a significant part of imparting quality education.

Union Cabinet has sanctioned the merger of 10 public sector banks (PSBs) into 4 from 1st April 2020. As per the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the exercise of consolidation of 10 PSBs into four is on course and the merger will come into effect from the new financial year 1st April 2020.
The National Water Mission set up the inaugural session of the workshop on “Increasing Water Use Efficiency in Industries” in New Delhi. The workshop was set up under the initiative “HarKaamDeshkeNaam”. Emphasis on the adoption of the Corporate Water Responsibility (CWR) as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) provisions was given during the workshop.

The state government of Uttarakhand has declared “Gairsain” to be its summer capital. Gairsain is a tehsil located in Chamoli district. The state Assembly of Uttarakhand is located in Dehradun while assembly sessions are also organized in Gairsain. Garsain was always demanded by the statehood activists as the permanent capital of the state.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched and laid foundation stones for 23 development projects worth Rs 2,821 crore at Gautam Buddh Nagar in Noida. These projects comprises India’s biggest multi-level parking with space for 7,000 vehicles at estimated cost of Rs 500 crore, a government hospital, three power substations and many more.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has become Sunil Joshi as the new chairman of the national selection panel. The CAC including Madan Lal, RP Singh and Sulakshana Naik will review the panel’s performance after one year and make recommendations accordingly.
The Ministry of External Affairs declared that the Senior diplomat Sanjay Kumar Panda will be India’s Ambassador to Turkey. He will take over Sanjay Bhattacharya. Sanjay Kumar Panda is a 1991 Indian Foreign Service officer, is currently Consul General, Consulate General of India, San Francisco.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has selected the current Revenue Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey as the new Finance Secretary. He will take over the current Finance Secretary Rajiv Kumar. Ajay Bhushan Pandey had earlier worked as the chief executive officer of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization behind the Aadhaar.

New Delhi launches a national level Training Workshop on COVID-19 Management for all the states and hospitals. The workshop was managed by the Health Ministry targets to train the trainers on various aspects to tackle the situation related to novel Coronavirus. Infection prevention, hospital preparedness, disinfection and biomedical waste management, community engagement, non-pharmaceutical interventions are some aspects on which training will be provided to the trainers
Janez Jansa has become the Prime Minister of Slovenia. He will replace Marjan Sarec, who stepped down from his post in January 2020. Janez Jansa has led the Slovenian government previously from 2004 to 2008 and from 2012 to 2013.

The Union Government of India imposed temporary prohibition of the activity of the capital-starved Yes Bank and capped withdrawals at ₹50,000 per account after considering an application created by the Reserve Bank of India. The board of Yes Bank has been superseded with immediate effect by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Former SBI CFO Prashant Kumar has been selected as administrator of Yes Bank.
