- The International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing is being commemorated on 5 June 2020.
- The purpose of this to draw attention to the menaces posed by IUU fishing activities to the sustainable use of fisheries resources as well as to ongoing attempts to fight these activities which were observed for the first time on 5 June 2018.
